After all the gunk was removed from the drain, the drain is so noisy when showering. How can this be fixed?

it's sucking for air to swallow the water; check above in the attic or roof to see if vent to the roof is plugged up or obstructed with something ; like a birds nest or whatever. the vent allows for the water to drain properly otherwise it's creating a vacuum of a sorts and then the water has to gulp air to swallow(drain) into sewer pipe. you may have to use a Plumber's Drain "Snake" inserted from the roof or attic ;to break loose the obstruction to the air. You can buy a small short one at the hardware store for not much money. it's way cheaper than hiring a plumber

Did you check whether that stuff ate a hole through the drain pipes and is currently making a flood in the room below the tub? There is a limit to how noisy a drain could really be, so it is worth checking that there is not a problem there now.

I suspect number one has the most valid clue. The "Gunk" acted as cushioning, and sound deadening.

Without knowing your tolerance levels, or accptance levels for noise, and considering that it's only a shower, not a major construction hum next door, I imagine your time enduring the noise is brief, relatively speaking. You could always sing while showering...Smile. You could cover the drain with a face cloth when showering. That would mufle the noise a bit, though it might also mean you'd be standing in an increasingly deeper pool of what you just scrubbed off.

There really is little you can do, but you might consider it this way. What matters more, the sound of water flowing, or Gunked up pipes?

at the starting up you are able to attempt eliminating the U-capture below the sink, and see if the clog is there. you'll favor a strong pipe wrench or Channel Lock pliers to break the nuts free. once you get it off, you'll maximum in all probability could replace the seals, as they are maximum in all probability old and dry now, those are low-cost, and maximum hardware shops carry them. in simple terms take the old ones, down and they're going to teach you've been the hot ones are placed. even if, formerly you do all that artwork, I advise you purchase a bathroom plunger or the sink plunger, also accessible at any hard ware shop, or perhaps in some Drug shops and are also decrease priced. proper off the sink, about 0.5 way, and use the flexibility of the plunger, some circumstances, and with somewhat of success, you'll dislodge what's plugging up the sink. it ought to take some tries, yet with what you've executed already, it ought to do the trick for you.

What's happening is that there is such negative pressure in your system that when you use the bathtub, the earth is literally sucking all of the water out of your house.

It's unlikely that the problem is the drain, or even related to your cleaning it out. It's likely to be the plumbing vent. If it's obstructed in some way, this is exactly what happens.
