Yes my last smear test I had to have it done 3 times before they got a clear reading, and I was fine - results came back clear in the end!! Don't worry, it does not mean anything is wrong. It just means that not enough cells were collected to be able to carry out a proper reading. Sometimes too the doctor/nurse collects cells from the wrong part of the vagina. People's vagina's come in different shapes and sizes and sometime the nurse/doctor does not go deep enough to collect cells from the right spot. It is an annoyance that you have to return to have it done again but don't worry about it. I'm sure it will all be fine!!

Yeah. I had a second test done four months ago
and have got to back in two months now. I have
also been told not to worry (pre-cancerous cells)
but if the results are the same this time I will go
to hospital and take it from there. I'm not worried
though.
I think with your case it is because it was your
first smear. Its not very nice and very hard not
to tense up when they put that receptical inside
you!! Consequences are they cannot get as many
cells as they would like. (Also the reason for the
bleeding). So stop worrying. We are very lucky
to be able to have these tests - aren't we?

Yes - the first time for me it was cleared by anti=biotics - not a std - the second was pre-cancerous cells which was quite scary. However when I talked to others about it quite a few of the girls I know had it too. You may have to have a biopsy where they take a tiny bit for analysis and then the treatement is just to remove the cells - normally by lazer. I was put under for it but many people do it under local - you don't feel a thing and there is no pain afterwards. You are in and out in the same day.
May be nothing as well. Good luck.

I know you've been told this already, but really don't worry! Something like one in ten aren't clear but the majority of those are clear the second time around. If abnormal cells are found this is v common too and they are usually burned off with a lazer - it's relitively rare for something more to develop out of it. The important thing is that your dr knows about it and that you are getting further tests and treatment if you do need it - better to know about it early as you've got a better chance of getting better faster, but hopefully it won't come to that. Try not to worry - good luck xx

stop worrying as you will see as you get older a lot of those test have to be redone. I have severe female problems(cysts on ovary--have already had one ovary taken out) and I dont know if it is the test itself or the doctor doing it but at least half are "unclear" . Slight bleeding and recent intercourse can alter the results also how close you are to your period can make a difference in results. Dont wory till youve had 3 that are unclear then go to a different doctor for a second opinion. Good luck!

A smear test? Don't you mean a Pap test? If your doctor isn't worried, then you shouldn't be either. I'm sure this has happened to other women as well. It's normal to worry but this is where your faith comes in. You'll be just fine!

Don't worry. This has happened to me twice. It was because the nurse taking the sample hadn't done it correctly! Very annoying when you waste months waiting for re testing and new results.

Please don't worry - there may have been a problem with the test or you might have had a slight infection which has since cleared up. These days the tests are so finely tuned that they pick up even the smallest abnormalities which can often be dealt with quickly and painlessly.

Hi,
I have a feeling that as you bled slightly this has possibly determined the unclear result. I am worlds worst worrier but I definitely wouldn't worry about this, you ll be okay.xx
