Well, the clue is in the name - slave 'Trade' - Europeans went to Africa and traded manufactured goods for slaves, who were then taken to the Americas and traded for sugar, cotton and other commodities, which were then brought back to Europe and sold at great profit.
This shameful trade involved many African nations, and it is important that this is not ignored and the whole thing dismissed as a white-only operation.

Yes there were. The slave trade in Africa was run almost exclusively by blacks. They "collected" the slaves from rival tribes and ethnic groups and transported them to the slave forts on the west coast. The slaves were then kept in inhuman conditions in the forts until a sale could be negotiated. It is reckoned (though difficult to prove as records were not kept accurately until a sale had been made and a reciept of purchase issued) that more people died during this process than during the ship crossings to America, simply because it was uneconomical to let a slave die once you had bought it. Many of the slave brokers in the forts were also black, as were some of the ship crew and many of the partners in the ships themselves

On a recent programme on C4, it said that the Europeans didn't kidnap many people. Most were sold into slavery by their own tribes, sometimes even by their own family. The guy who's history was on this programme found out that his ancestor was sold by his on family as he was too rebellious. However, I don't believe that the black slavers knew what was ahead of the slave.
Also, when they got to the USA, one slave would be 'in charge' of each group. He would be known as the 'slave driver' and have to whip the slaves beneath him for their owners to be happy.

Yes, blacks did participate in the slave trade and made money from it. If we fast-forward to today, the only people in the world who still trade in slaves are blacks. Also, if you look at how African leaders treat their own people, you would not be that impressed with black rule. It is a sad truism today that a black person would be treated with more respect and kindness by a white person than by another black person.

yes! but it wasnt for money as they had no currency. it was for finished products. this is how it went:
Europeans would bring their finished goods (guns etc.) to trade with the Africans, and in return get natural goods as well as human slaves (usually criminals or prisoners from other tribes). these fellows were taken to the West Indies or America to work the lands such as cotton fields or sugar cane and those commodities would be sent back to Europe and the process would begin again. It was very lucrative to the Europeans, thats why they got greedy and started to steal Africans (all including tribal leaders)

um ... yeah. It wasnt really about money though. It was about getting rid of rival and enemies.
The slave trade was bad enough. But the real evil was the actual slavery. The Africans had no way of knowing that the white slavers were going to be so unusually cruel and hedonistic.

The rich blacks sold and traded their own people, shame isn't it for a race to turn on their own people, but what is really a shame is that white people got blamed for it, the black slave traders KNEW how the slaves were going to be used BUT THEY DID NOT CARE!!!

curiously you have chosen the iron eagle / swastika image on your avitar. Any reason especially for that? for sure each and every person could have their very own opinion on the subject, confident a great many slaves have been rounded up and offered by close by conflict lords in west africa and so on. some ought to assert that slavery have been ongoing for hundreds (or hundreds) of years previous to the 'commerce' and all that replaced replaced into people arrived with boats to export them. on the tip of the day, I say despite handed off is long gone, replaced into it precise or incorrect? it is very own opinion (yet i comprehend the place I stand, and that's on the area of it being incorrect). even in spite of the shown fact that, who're we to assert that folk who lived hundreds of years in the past have been incorrect. for sure by our standards they have been, yet perhaps in the event that they hadn't somebody else ought to have. it extremely is an particularly frustrating and emotional area to handle. permit's go away it there.
