[The most important part of the Mohammed story is yet to make the headlines. Despite having held and tortured hundreds of detainees for years in Gitmo, and we don’t know how many more in secret prisons around the world, the US government has come up with only 14 "high value detainees."

In other words, the government has nothing on 99 percent of the detainees who allegedly are so dangerous and wicked that they must be kept in detention without charges, access to attorneys and contact with families.

And little wonder. The vast majority of detainees, alleged "enemy combatants," are not terrorists captured by the CIA and brave US troops. They are hapless persons who happened to be outside their tribal or home territories and were kidnapped by criminal gangs or war lords who profited greatly at the expense of the naive Americans who offered bounties for "terrorists." . . .]

The US does not have 14 "High Value Detainees". They are simply bringing 14 people to military tribunals. Obviously they cannot try every single terrorist at once, there is a limit to how many the system can process at a time.

KSM is obviously a terrorist, the fact that he confessed to more crimes than he probably committed alludes more to the fact that he is a megalomaniac, than he is an innocent hapless person who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The terrorists use the media to spread their propoganda, and sadly there are some liberals like yourself who believe it. You are nothing but a patsy who has fallen for the terrorist propaganda hook, line, and sinker..

Since when does the world hegemon have to explain its actions to the world. They got to kill 4M in Vietnam and they still say Hitler is a monster without competition. Well, i tell you he has competition. And for the ranters up and about... Anglo_Saxons were bathing in their own dirt before they found a place to rob and a whole population to enslave for its profit. The US has stands in no moral ground to judge the Middle East. Furthermore, where do you get the callousness to say that concentration camp in occupied Cuba is a better place to live than those peoples' homelands, and since when you get to say who is an animal? The Arabs have never used the atom bomb, or persecuted thoudans for their beliefs (remember the cold war? murdering guatemaltecos and salvadorenos? you remember US bullets in communist flesh? )
We were studying complex astronomy and medicine in the Americas when the Europeans were burning witches, the only factor that made the difference between the bright amerindian civilization and europian barbarie ruling over our continent was gun powder. You seem to know so much. Any documentation for your rants? I know someone who served in Gitmo; in section 5 (worst). His assessment was that they were all animals, and the look of utter hatred was constantly about them. Are you sure you want these folks released? They actually have better conditions there than in their homeland. Since when do war criminals deserve a lawyer?
