It should not be a problem. You will probably be very safe here. I would suggest that you rent a small car if you know how to drive. Will gladly correspond with you if you like, but suggest you downplay the headdress---will a scarf suffice? Still, either way, you are unlikely to have problems no matter what you wear---a burka would make you an object of curiousity in some places, pity in others, but it would never, I believe, put you in real danger.

Enjoy your vacation. I've travelled a lot in the USA and would be happy to assist you with your itinerary, or any other questions you have---all the best, Brian

you'll be just as safe as anybody else, i see people all around with headdresses... and i see them with burka's and veil's... but you see them mostly in cities or more populated area's. but when going to any country that is not your own, stay safe and stay in populated area's. that's also the advice i would give my daughter going to the mall.

this is a free country, there are no "special" rules imposed on Muslim's, just as there are no "special" rule's imposed on Christian's or other belief's. you may experience delays being a traveler, i took a plane from NYC to Florida and they singled me out (random) and had me take my shoes off and i got a thorough search, and i have tattoo's of Crucifixes around my arm and on my hand and i'm as white as white gets, so the religion isn't that critical, plus the airport people have to make sure not to violate people's rights.

enjoy yourself and have a good time, but as always, be a safe traveler... just as you would at home.

There is no doubt you will encounter some ignorant fool that will make a comment, but technically all rules are the same for anyone entering or leaving the country. Anyone can get held up while traveling, I can't tell you the number of times my luggage has been searched, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Enjoy your trip.

In all honesty, you will probably be fine. Americans are very kind are usually given a bad rap. You may be questioned a bit more before boarding a plane, but just be prepared. We are a bit more aware since 9-11. As long as all your paperwork is in order, you will be fine. Enjoy your trip!

As long as your passport and Visa are up to date and you are coming here for vacation purposes, why would you be detained for anything? Now if you were here to cause trouble, then I'm sure you would get noticed.Sure, our borders are more defined since the terrorists attacks on September 11th, but this should be no qualms for fear from ANY ethnic group as long as their motives are pure. Our whole country is made up from different ethnicity's...hence the name, " the melting pot".Have fun and enjoy yourself! We have some mighty fine places to see!

Don't let anyone exaggerate. You'll have a lot of fun here and the chances of you not enjoying yourself because of religious discrimination are small. There are plenty of people in my city who not only wear headdresses, but the entire burka! I haven't seen anyone harrasing them. Enjoy your trip. :)

You will go through the rigors just like anyone else getting on a plane. If you don't have anything that is not allowed on the plane you will be fine.
