No, this isn't true..For most TV's at least. It is true that any video game counsel is bad for a rear-projection TV, but for any other TV a PS2 is as harmless as just watching plain old telecision.

We've had a big TV for 8 years and it has blown out twice. I've only hooked my PS2 to it like once. Why Ps2 and not like Xbox or Gamecube? I think eveything u see on a tv will decrease the lifetime.

Every time the TV is on it decrease a TV's lifetime. It is not just PS2 every thing dose.

Not that Ive noticed. Ive had the same tv since, I believe, 2002 and it still works fine even though Ive had a ps2 hooked up to it for almost 3 years. You may want to have your house wiring checked.

maybe if your t.v. is old and cant take that much technology it could decrease the life time of it but if its like just 4 years old i don't think it would decrease the lifetime of it
