...or any other political difference of opinion?

Or, do you not care about truth, reality, differences of opinion, the fact that there might be more than one way to view things, the idea that YOU might be wrong?

Amazing how the name calling gets started, no?

What's more amazing is how Slick Willy's administration repeatedly tried to meet with Dubya's team and were constantly put off; what's more amazing is that they were trying to warn Dubya and his crew about the gathered covert information on the terrorists... and they were repeatedly turned away... then, 9/11 came about 9 months into Dubya's administration... and the excuses started mounting... too much information, not enough information, blah, blah, blah... but Slick Willy's administration reminded Dubya and his crew that they tried to advise them and there's also a paper trail and records of this... and Dubya won't admit that he and his administration were too arrogant to listen! Now they blame Slick Willy? I don't understand the mentality that would constantly deny the truth and blame others... UNREAL!

So, instead of listening, the ignore; then, instead of accepting the blame, they claim ignorance; instead of accepting the truth, they blame others; instead of admitting they bungled 9/11, they resort to name-calling and a list of diversionary tactics!

EDITED: RLP, are you insane? Are you delusional? Gimme a break! Who calls liberals commies, pinkos, anti-American, etc., when they exercise their Constitutional rights, freedoms and liberites and stand up FOR our Constitution? PLEASE, get a grip on reality! I don't understand why they're called Liberals when they want to CONserve and maintain the spirit of the Constitution and defend it against would-be tyrants and puppets for the super rich and powerful!

First , the yank soldier is familiar with what style of persons protesters are ! It shall we the yank soldier provide thank you that they are are no longer having to combat on the factor of of them there. That the protesters are some time past homestead , and not there in conflict inflicting havoc and resentment has have been given to make the soldier happy and truthfully safer. The protesters throughout the Vietnam conflict have been those` that have been afraid they have been going to get drafted , that`s what their secret schedule became by making use of protesting . It wasn`t relating to the conflict as being suitable or incorrect , it became approximately them being afraid to be drafted and having to flow combat themselves ! If the illiterate`s choose to whinge approximately President Bush approximately moving into conflict , then they should take off their liberal socialist blinders , and take a verify out what have been given us into Vietnam , JFK (D), LBJ (D) , & a Liberal Democratic controlled Congress . do a sprint homework libs` , flow back and spot what the " Democratic LIE" became for going to conflict and getting "fifty six,000" + American infantrymen killed" over a " 9 " 300 and sixty 5 days era became ? The Vietnam protesters and their offspring are the Liberal Socialist politicians of on the instant !!!

What intelligent discussion? Look I support the right of people to protest, but the protesters are not engaging in intelligent debate either when they call George Bush the greatest terrorist in the world and also lay all deaths, even those committed by insurgents and sectarians at the feet of the United States. This is all purely political no matter which you stand on. If the antiwar set wants rational intelligent debate they should try engaging in some themselves. Neither side is correct for slamming the other, but the idea that the left is anymore acceptable than the right in this is just a one sided fantasy.

thats fine if people were talking about it before the protesters protested. People generally dont see a problem until its pointed out.
I am not a protester lets get that straight right now.
But plain and simple having the right to something and a duty to do something are 2 different things and as americans we have a duty to let the government know when it screws up.
Furthermore i seem to remember in history class something about "THE BOSTON TEA PARTY" hello that was a protest. and look here we are in america where up until bush turned it into a facist state to promote daddy's "new world order" was a free country where everyone wanted to come and live "the dream" now we are slighted and hated by people that feel the same way the protesters do.

You are aware that it is the liberal minded like the Dixie Chicks, Murtha, Pelosi, Howard Dean, that do a lot of the name calling and belittling of the president. So, how is it we can have an intelligent discussion with a Liberal in the first place. Here are some conversation examples I have had with liberals.

Lib: Man dude Bush is a big fat liar!
Me: About what?
Lib: Well you know about everything...
Me: Such As?
Lib: Man you are such a jck@ss

Really happened in a McDonald's I was just reading the paper.

It really doesn't matter here on yahoo since there is a real World outside of this web. Check out what this Republican has to say about the current Administration and Iraq debacle.

First off, a protest do not involve conversation, discussion or allow for the expression of opposing views. All it is, is one side of an opinion shouting at the the top of their lungs, and usually insulting any opposing opinion.

Most if not all protest are by liberals, that means that most conservatives view them as unapproachable do to their tactics.

Maybe if the liberals grew up and would quit using a 2 year olds tactics of crying until they get want they want and actually try discussion and adult tactics such as using your vote instead of your mouth, allowing your liberal representatives to take your ideas and opinions to the house and senate floor. And talking intelligently instead of yelling nonconstructive things like "Bush Sucks" then maybe there would be more discussion.

Protest are nothing more than yelling look at me, I can make a lot of noise , now give me what I want. That is not an intelligent or constructive way to fix problems.

if you slam liberals with facts and raw data, then by definition it does further rational and intelligent discourse. If you slam conservatives with facts and raw data, it too furthers rational discourse.

If you rely on rhetoric to carry the day, then you are right that it furthers nothing. Like Augustine said in his discourses on rhetoric, it becomes the first stage of rhetoric....preaching to the converted.

In that the main refrain from the liberal protesters is either "no blood for oil" or "war is never the answer", they have branded themselves as either idiots or hopelessly naive.

Current gas prices will argue strongly against the first argument. And I would argue that war was indeed the answer to stop slavery, end the genocide of millions of Jews, stop the genocide of millions of Cambodians (Vietnam stopped the terrors of the Kmer Rouge), stop the domination of all of Asia by Japan, etc.

The largest problem I see is that the liberal "Truth" is so totally divorced from the reality of the world that no one can see you as anything but willfully ignorant.

It doesn't. I love to sit down with republicans and talk with them (on the few occasions that they welcome intelligent and non-slamming discussions). I myself, am a liberal and I like to be open to other points of view. However, when most republicans bash liberals or simply repeat the same jargon to me seemily without any thought involved, I tend to get turned off by them.
