Have you ever been to a jail? You can't argue if you have no idea what you're talking about. (I don't know either, btw).

I've watched people get arrested just to get something to eat.
Once you become property of whatever state you are given two choices.. you can either have certain jobs in the jail which
you can be paid with credit to pay that $3.00 for a small cup of coffee or you can do what most of them do..... nothing. Letting the ones that want to work do whatever job you refuse to. Delivering lunches, cleaning, sometimes even moving other prisoners to a different cell. I know this from my brothers stay in the Grant county jail.

Ive been in jail & they must of skipped me when they were handing out the luxuries! Go visit the Marion & Hendricks County jails in Indiana. Believe me, being stuck in there is punishment enough! Youre lucky if they give you a phone call after you go to court & get a bond.

Generally I personally believe that one reaps what they sow. And being that only God determines everyones outcomes it really is up to his WORD to determine that. Better yet what would you want happening to you,a loved one ,or a good friend under such circunstances? We can even agree to suggest that they be sent to the frontlines of Iraq in exchange for there bad deeds. And so that they could at least get some self-esteem in the process as many desire. But to no realistical occurence. Other then just continued let downs such as your criticis'm .

Your first question is too vague to answer. It depended on they murdered someone or shoplifted something for dinner.
Oh and from what little I know Jail is a much better place then say PRISON. I hope you use the word prison instead of jail for your paper, or you are doomed off the git-go.

Counciling, schooling, work making plates but those with non violent crimes should be made to help society (build roads, fix roadways, fill sandbags, labor type labor. Also build new jails). No TV or computer games. Computers only used for schooling purposes. They should be allowed to read. Right now prisioners are getting 3 squares with lap o luxury lifestyle often times (I don't have a large screen TV, fitness center, free schooling, free healthcare). I have been paying for over 22 years for my education and have one more to go and I have NO health insurance but make too much to get on the county health plan. Oops caught in the middle but still too law abiding to get it free.
