how do i go about it. and can i just reinstal my old one?
it has a cradle that has to be plugged into the usb port at all times. and when that's in i can't put my xd card in the slot.( like to transfer pictures) for some reason it won't 'pick up' i think it's interfering..
I'M PRETTY COMPUTER STUPID...SO ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED..

Just plug your old one back in. You dont need to uninstall anything.....
If it makes you feel more comfortable, shut down the computer before switching them out....

Turn off your PC first. Then, disconnect the USB mouse and connect your old one. Re-boot and you should be OK.

Your XD card problem may be a whole other issue. I assume you are using a USB media card reader. Try using your camera to save pix to your PC instead.

Read the camera manual for more info.

Turn off computer plug in the new mouse so the computer can be installed. or if doesnt work it may be broken so get yo reciept and return it
