I love going to the movies. DVDs are convenient, but it's just not the same EXPERIENCE as going to the movie theater.
I usually go to Regal Cinemas in my hometown (Virginia Beach). The theater has stadium seating, with high-back seats that rock/recline slightly and are very comfortable.
Of course, my hubby and I have to have some popcorn and a soda (even though both are obscenely overpriced), but what would the movie be without some?
They used to play a lot of previews, but now they have some annoying promotional thing called "The 2wenty" that gives you previews of music and television shows, etc. I don't like it - they should just stick to movie previews.

I live in Indonesia, a city named Surabaya
my city has more than 10 malls!
each has movie theatre that plays 5 or 4 movies at the same time, and it always new, and from Hollywood =D
they give discount on Mondays so I always watch movie on Mondays, once a month, after work...last movie I watched is Ghost Rider and Music & Lyrics (not bad, quite entertaining)

I go whenever I feel like I need to escape and/or get inspired (at least 2 or 3 times a month). I like to go in the afternoons by myself and at night with friends or on dates. In my city the cinema's at the malls are the nicest/cleanest with clean bathrooms and no sticky floors. Also the popcorn is always fresh which is most important!

My family and I only go to a Cinemark in Valley View, OH (subarb of Cleveland). 24 theaters. Very clean. Several concession stands and the seats are great. Lots of room to stretch out legs and if the movies is terrible, they are a great place to take a nap.

It depends. I usually go to Marcus Cinema or Dunes Cinema. Duens is pretty cheap, but Marcus is pretty big and nice.

With DVDs, going to the theatre has become rare - unless it is a potentially Oscar-winning movie and the DVD is not readily available.

Once or twice a month, mostly action or horror movies. (they're better on the bigscreen)
