Your baby is still so tiny that it has a lot of room down there. He/She could be facing your spine and kicking that way (which would mean you wouldn't feel it), or he/she may just be comfortable. It takes a lot of energy to build a little body like that and with brain development, your baby is sleeping most of the day. You're still very early on as well. Also, as you walk during the day, you put your baby to sleep (why we rock our babies after they are born) When you lay down at night, you stop moving, giving your baby a chance to wake up and actually stay awake for a period of time. By the time you reach the end, you will barely be able to sleep. You'll see feet sticking out, have your ribs grabbed, have sharp kicks, have your bladder pressed on. Trust me, your baby is barely a pound right now and has very little muscle. As it gets bigger, you're going to think you have a line backer down there.

Yes generally, although toward the very end they can calm down simply as they have less room.
I have had 3 and I seem to remember that the movements got steadily easier to recognise the further on through -from about 20 weeks.
Some people seem very anxious about movements, but as long as you are feeling them every day thats good.
I was always told that when "mum" relaxes more oxegen gets through to the baby which would explain why many women,me included, often feel more movements either in bed or when they sit down to relax.
Hope it goes really weel for you,its a special time so enjoy!

Your lucky you feel anything this early. Your baby is still very small and has a lot of room to move about. So you aren't going to feel a lot of movement. As the baby gets bigger you well feel more movement. Then you wise that little boxer didn't hit quite so hard. But what your feeling is the norm.

The baby has still a lot of space to move that probably why you dont feel it as much... The more you progress the smaller the space the baby is going to have so you will start feeling the movements easier... =)

yes sweetie each week brings a different level of strength that you will feel. This sounds normal for just starting to feel the baby, in about 3-4 weeks it will be stronger than ever and it will begin to move more, good luck and best wishes
