A Canadian study permit is not enough to apply for a Canadian permanent residence. You will probably need to get a job sponsor and meet other requirements such as education, language, family members, and other factors that determine your eligibility. Studying in Canada will not help you gain permanant residence. THere are other ways. You can come as a live-in caregiver, or the easiest was is to marry a Canadian. This oftenhappens when you come to Canada and study for a few years. You may meet someone and decide to get married. Also if you have a child in Canada and the father is Canadian, I think it is easier to gain residency.
