Why would it matter what he looks like? Its his political opinion and his record as chancellor that counts.
He has presided over 10 years of economic stability unprecedented in post war Britain. The majority of people in the UK are now better off than they have ever been, which is why they can afford to pay a bit more tax (probably less than any of the alternatives would have imposed at that). I am not a great supporter of Brown -in fact many of his ideas worry me, but his handling of the economy has been better than anything that any of the opposition parties has proposed. So credit where credit is due.
So if his smile seems smug to you, maybe its because he has something to be smug about.

He doesn't only look smug and arrogant, he IS................with good reason!! The Chancellor has raised taxes by stealth no less than 66 times and he has not kept tax thresholds in line with growth and inflation. The result is that 50% more people than in 1997 are now paying the top rate of tax. The average household is shelling out an extra £2,300 a year.!!!!!
The Chancellor can hide the numbers, but he cannot hide the reality. Taxation hits industry's profits and its ability to expand. It has cut foreign investment, along with the jobs and wealth it brought. While Brown might smirk into his mirror every morning, congratulating himself on the clever way he has hidden his taxes, the rest of us are not smiling.!!!!!!!!!!
He's made mugs of the lot of us!!! The sad thing is,he will be allowed to continue,as those who say there is no alternative continue to vote labour,thus putting him in the position to keep smirking away!

Thats just the way his face was made, its not his fault. We can blame him and that other idiot for lots of things but the way his face appears to us surely is not one of them. Mine appears grumpy to everyone who looks at me but I'm not grumpy, I just can't be bothered to smile it takes up too much energy.
