The same reason people believe movies are real. If no one told you it was actors, well they're trying to seem real. So are 'pro' wrestlers. Usually in movies, it really is real, because they are portraying some kind of reality that is probably realler than your own. It is the same with wrestling, if you didn't grow up as some kind of actual pro fighter, you can buy the WWF.

Because for a funny reason, some people need to visual violence.And it feels so much better when they feel it is real.
