Firstly, I love Coldplay's stuff, the'yre a great band!

Does anyone else remember a few years back, Chris Martin from Coldplay was this shy, well spoken young man who was permanently apologising for comments he made? Even when he didn't mean anything untoward? It seemed like every other day he was putting himself down.

A good example being when Coldplay won an award in 2002, Chris Martin made a joke onstage about how he didnt like Craig David's hairstyle - and got booed because people for some reason thought he was being racist, even though it was a style which everyone wears! He immediately said sorry in the middle of his thankyou speech and was visibly upset. I felt sorry for him because he clearly didnt mean anything racist by it.

Anyway now he goes around punching photographers?! I'm glad he's developed confidence, but what causes such a big change in someone? I know fame does it but there are lots of people who remain the same person after fame?

People change, even regular people.
I guess if you add a bit of fame and money to it, it's even easier to become an arrogant so-and-so....
Not all change, but unfortunately, most do...
