i don't want to spend too much money but i do want a good microphone. so i'd like to know which one i should get

Shure SM58 is the 'daddy' of vocal mic's but note that this is primarily used for live performance because it is a dynamic mic and not so likely to pick up other ambient noise (less likely to feedback). If you are planning to record yourself, think about a condenser mic. These are more expensive, but offer more clarity.
You'll not go wrong with an SM58 as a rule and they are really well-priced. As an alternative, you could consider a sennheiser dynamic (e835) which has been reviewed as being better than the Shure....for more about mic's see the link below

Get a SURE SM 58, IT IS ONLY ABOUT $100.00 BUT IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT SINGING IT IS WELL WORTH IT. PEACE
