My husband and I went on a two week east coast honeymoon 4 years ago. Trip of a lifetime for us! Found out at Naples Fl hospital that I had sun poinsoning and a baby on the way!

Naples is prime beauty! Best place to live in US except for the mosquitos. If going to FL you will be near Okeefanokee swamp at the end of Georgia. Beautiful swamp and close ups with alligators. Nice boat tour, it is a different world in the swamps. Daytona is packed with shops and night life. Silver Springs will give you insight to the most clearsest water on the Earth. Maimi gets a bit congested and if you get on the toll road you drive 5 miles and pay again, drive 5 miles and pay again....It was crazy. My husband said they better start putting Mac machines at the tolls. Kennedy Space Center is expensive and you don't see much. Informative but just not very welcoming due to protection of NASA. The Everglades is vast and for the outdoor lover. Be carful around Homestead. We went for gas one night to a cute town we seen during the day. Well the night brought closed shops with chains and bars, no tourist people, and police standing at the gas station. No one spoke English, someone pulled a gun at the gas pumps, and it was very SCARY!!! Now if you are lucky enough to get to the Keys, congratulations! We swam with dolphins and snorkeled reefs in Key Largo. Our favorite place on EARTH!!! Key West is the place for nightlife and shopping and congestion! Bahia Honda Park is a little jewel of a beach. Small but white sand, clear water. We snorkeled off the beach and watched sting rays, lobsters, and conch. Of course the Conch were not that exciting as they don't move, ever.

As for camping, everywhere you turn there is a campsight. Go to AAA and get a membership. it is like $30+ but absolutely worth it. They can give you detailed maps and tour books that list EVERYTHING!!!! We lived by their info! Good luck, have a safe trip, and enjoy our fabulous country!

Just a note, Savanah, Georgia was diappointing. Total shame! Lots of trash on side of roads and if you don't get to that certain area that is well maintained then you will see lots of ugly stuff. Sorry but it is true!

Oh, I'm so jealous! I absolutely love Florida! Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that I currently live in Minnesota?!?
I don't know about Virginia, I do know that I'd like to stop in Savannah, Georgia some time.
Florida, last June my wife and I were married on Sand Key, just off of Clearwater Beach......FABULOUS!!! It's right on the Gulf of Mexico and really beautiful. White, super-fine almost powder, sand beaches!
If you do go, make sure to stop at Frenchy's, it's a great restaurant and bar. If you're looking for a place to stay, Sheppard's Beach Resort is a lot of fun, DJ outside all day and live music on the weekends.
If you end up at Clearwater, stick your toes in the sand for me!
