This deck is Legacy/Vintage and many decks in those formats don't play many creatures. You have no win conditions whatsoever. Lim-Dul is a Legend and so you can only play 1 at a time. If Phage and/or Avatar of Woe get killed your deck fizzles. Also, you have too much conditional kill. What if your opponent is playing Black? Terror and Dark Banishing become dead cards in your hand. Dash Hopes doesn't do anything early game. People will always pay the life. What are your typical matchups? From what I can see you can't win against monoblue, monoblack, Boros, or burn. You need more creatures and fewer spells. Nekrataal and Big Game Hunter both destroy creatures when they come into play. Stinkweed Imp allows you to do some flying damage or have a blocker with a nasty ability.

I'd take this to the forums on Wizards.com. They can help you with strategy, both with gameplay and the deck itself. Just post it in the right forum. People don't get mad but they do get discouraged when you post in the wrong forum. I'd say casual play or vintage. Casual will usually get more hits then vintage but I really don't look in those forums.

Well, this deck is TOO anti-creature.

The average deck is about 1/4 creatures. This means about 15 creatures in a 60-card deck.

You have 22 creature removal spells in your deck, with no way to protect your own. One of the ways to test any deck is to play it against itself. This deck would stall itself on both sides because both sides would demolish the creatures with -4/-4s and -3/-3s, leaving a whole lot of non-black creature destruction against a black creature deck.

And, yes-- aside from a pretty weak Blightspeaker, you really have no win condition. Also, what happens if the deck you play against is creatureless, or has creatures that don't show up in your opponent's graveyard (i.e.- enchantments that become creatures on some triggered event, token creatures, YOUR creatures...etc.) You will be left with a deck that only has about 10-12 useful cards (that won't give you a win, just delay a loss) and 18 swamps. The remaining 50% of your deck will be useless.

Sorry, enough about what's wrong with your deck, and let's go to what's RIGHT with it.

The spells that give -3/-3 and -4/-4 are GREAT!! They're instant, can target any color and tackle that pesky "prevent all damage" and "regenerate" crap.

You really don't need 8 of them though. I would take out 2 of the Sudden Deaths. And you're right. In this deck you don't need Sudden Spoil, either. Dash Hopes is good, but your opponents WILL pay the life unless they're below 10 life. So that's not a very strong card. It IS useful, however (if only for a quick 5 life for 2 mana) so only take 2 of those out.

Lim-Dul the Necromancer is AWESOME, if you can get him out during normal gameplay, but just having 4 of him and 4 dark rituals in your deck hoping to hit both at the same time is a bit chancey. You should add a game dynamic to help get him out with out paying his exorbitant mana cost that works on other guys too (like your Avatar of Woe).

There are creatures that do things when they come into play that either cost the same or are not much more expensive. Example - Bone Shredder and Nekrataal. - both of these automatically cast a Terror when they come into play. Plus, Bone Shredder gives you a 1/1 flying creature, and Nekrataal gives you a 2/1 first strike creature. Both good options, but Bone Shredder has an Echo cost. I would put any combination of four of these in your deck in place of the 4 Dark Banishes. Plus, 18 swamps is really not enough if you want to do more than one thing per turn AND have creatures with a casting cost of 4 or more in your deck. So, take out 2 of your terrors and put in two swamps.

Now for the dynamic that will speed up your deck enough for you to overwhelm your opponent. There is a nifty little card called Buried Alive. It makes you pull 3 creatures of your choice from your library and put them in your graveyard. This card only works in a creature heavy deck with spells that put creatures into play from your graveyard, but it reduces the cost of playing them if you add cards like Recurring nightmare and Animate Dead (put 4 Animate Deads in your deck -- they work on ANYONE's graveyard) to allow you to put cards like Ravenous Rats into your graveyard (to be pulled out again later to make your opponent discard) to pull out a Lim Dul. Your casting cost just went from 7 to 5, spaced out over 2 turns (a maximum of 3)

And, since you are adding creatures like Nekrataal, you might want to toy around with others that do similar things like Gravedigger (returns a creature from your graveyard to your hand), Ravenous Rats (your opponent discards a card), Highway Robber (your opponent loses 2 life AND you gain 2 life), and there are many others. I would suggest that you take out your 4 Diabolic Edicts in favor of some of these creatures. Your 2 Extirpates won't really do you as much good as 2 Highway Robbers will, either.

I would remove 3 of your Dark Rituals now, since you can now get creatures without paying their casting cost. Instead, put in an underrated card called Victimize. it makes you sacrifice one of your creatures in play, but in return, you get TWO from your graveyard. AND, if one of the ones you return to play from your graveyard is a Gravedigger, you can bring the creature you just sacrificed back from your graveyard and put it into your hand.

Take out 2 of your Lim-Duls and add an Avatar of Woe. It's much better to have 2 Avatars in play, thatn 2 Lim Duls. You won't be able to have both of them in play at once anyway, but you'll have a spare one in your deck in case one gets removed from the game in some way.

In conclusion (and I hope I helped you understand WHY some of the things in your deck need to be changed) Your new deck might end up like this (and the cards I've suggested except for the extra Avatar of Woe are all relatively easy to get a hold of and inexpensive if you don't already own them) might look like this:

**BEWARE: DON"T TRY ANY OF THE GRAVEYARD TRICKS IN THIS DECK ON YOUR PHAGE THE UNTOUCHABLE!!!***

Creatures:
2 - Lim-Dul the Necromancer
2 - Avatar of Woe
1 - Phage the Untouchable
4 - Gravedigger
2 - Bone Shredder
2 - Nekrataal
2 - Highway Robber

Spells:
4 - Buried Alive
4 - Animate Dead
2 - Recurring Nightmare
3 - Victimize
1 - Dark Ritual
1 - Damnation
2 - Terror
2 - Dash Hopes
4 - Last Gasp
2 - Sudden Death

Land:
20 - Swamp

I hope this helped

P.S. - Usually, playing a single color deck isn't such a good idea. Try using 1/3 blue or white to help defend this deck a little better.
