For the General Assembly (the biggest one, and the only one to which all UN members belong) is Her Excellency Sheikha Haya Rashed Al Khalifa, of Bahrain.

Generally though, when people think of the leader of the UN, they are thinking of the Secretary General, who is the cheif administrator for the United Nations, and is also generally seen as the voice of the UN. The current Secretary General is Ban Ki Moon of South Korea, who became the 8th Secretary General of the UN on January 1st, 2007. He replaced Kofi Annan of Ghana.
