Usually you do not lose weight on thyroid meds alone, however thyroid meds help so that you do not gain weight. It's most likely your diet and exercise that is causing the weight loss. Before you were on thyroid meds, the diet and exercise probably didn't help with weight loss because you were hypo, but now that you are on meds the diet & exercise helps.
When one is hypothyroid, they usually gain weight or cannot lose weight. Once on meds, the weight gain stops. If they now diet and exercise they can lose weight easier than before the meds. However, if one does not diet and exercise, all the meds will do is stop the person from gaining.
A rare few will lose weight just by going on thyoid meds, but that's not the norm

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Usually the first week you will lose weight , and it can be as much as you have lost . But it will not always be that amount each week .
You only want to lose around 2lbs a week ,and maintain a good healthy food plan .
Do not look at it as a diet . It is a whole complete life change of eating habits .Refer to your food groups.
Following that , believe me you will have plenty to eat ,drink lots of water .(unless you retain water , see your Dr.) I'm a Lifetime Member of weight Watchers ,have kept it off for years , no longer go to meetings ,its all about Maintenance, once you are where you want your weight to be .
Most people don't understand you have to eat to lose weight , your Metabolism slows down if you don't , and too big of a weight lost you will just put it back on again .
"I wish you the best "
