You people seem not to understand the question.. Probably the "Perfect: thing blocks your mind to answering it... Let me rephrase the question for you people's sake..

"If Jesus Christ lost a part of his skin during his circumcision, would you still consider his body a perfect one?"

How bout that?

Nihilist, you just gave yourself a clue on how to answer the question... Yes, you would like to know how can a human body be perfect.. Please consider, this is Philosophy.. You would not want to end a philosophical question to be answered as "Silly Question".. Because, it traditionally implies, "I cannot answer the question".. In philosophy, you can.. I think your not even a philosopher to be able to answer that question... You seem not to deserve any recognition, since you made me think you are trying to imply that you cannot answer a question such as this... Really silly...

This is a very interesting and thought-provoking question.

I think we can safely say no human body is perfect. Even the healthy newborn comes into the world genetically predisposed to certain conditions, diseases, etc. And the fact that every person must eat and breathe to stay alive might make the case for the fact that the human body is not perfect in and of itself - it depends upon other factors to make it complete.

The idea of perfection is really only important when talking about the human soul and not the human body. God will not judge us for the condition of our body but rather the condition of our soul.

Therefore, things that happen to our body on earth (diseases, broken bones, circumcision) will not be a detriment to our soul. In fact, God in His mercy and wisdom has actually allowed the body to ASSIST in our salvation.

Examples - fasting from food......taking a vow of chastity.....offering up physical pain for others......even the act of kneeling on the floor and prostrating our bodies is good for the soul.....

And the opposite is true - our body can be a detriment to our salvation......gluttony, violence, lust, etc.

And of course, Christ used His physical body to offer up as the ultimate sacrifice. In this way He sanctified and made holy the physical sufferings of the human body.

I'm not philosophical really but I felt I should just give my personal opinion on this subject. What is perfection? I could ask ten different people and get ten different answers. I don't think this question is very clear more because perfection can be very subjective depending on who you ask and what their personal taste are. I myself see perfection in the fact that life on this world as a whole seems to be connected and that it is discovered more and more how much of an connection we all have to each other. I believe people are born with without arms and legs for some reason that is beyond our understanding to comprehend, and that we can't judge the perfection of a single body in the human species (flawed as we may think it is) without taking into account the reasoning in nature for its existence in the first place.

As the others noted: your axiom is impossible. It is an awkward one to consider as such....

Hence if one was to consider a human body to be perfect, you would have to define what about it made it perfect in order to be certain whether the people without arms and legs were perfect or not. If perfection was in the hands, for instance, then no they wouldn't be. If it was in the spleen, on the other hand, then yes they would be.

But effectively, what it comes down to is this:
Ask a silly question, get a silly answer.

If you consider all things in life as perfection and being in the state that is ordained by nature or God, then, yes. This body that is minus parts that most bodies have, is perfect. None of our bodies are identical. But they are what they are, and since we did not create them conciously, I think that whoever or whatever did create them made them this way on purpose, and these bodies are all examples of individual perfection.

I do wish you were a little less intense about the answers you are receiving. They are opinions, as is mine, which is what you were asking for.

The human body is amazing but far from perfect. We’ve just been fortunate enough to prolong our stay on this planet and avoid natural selection. Think about this, 99% of all species that have ever lived on Earth are now extinct. Read the short article I wrote on our little imperfections, lol

Jesus Christ's circumcision was seen a some sort of sacrifice...first of all, and secondly when God created Adam, and Eve...they were perfect! He made us Perfect, but since we sinned and we do live in this human habitat world ...well then **** happens ( you know! ) Look my friend, Our Lord in Heaven is perfect, and creates perfection ( in His eyes ). In other words " God does not make mistakes or garbage "
and anyways when you get to heaven you won't be imperfect...you'll be whole!

nobody but nobody , is perfect --- whether it be physical ; mental or any other way --- it's just not possible --- we all have imperfections one way or another --- but you wouldn't dwell on it --- you're a long time dead --- you'd want to make the best of it no matter what . good luck
