i dont no what am having and dont know what to do about surnames, mine is rosedale and my boyfriend's is basnett.
has anyone got any ideas for girls and boys names?? so far i like kyle and calum for a boy no idea for a girl.

i think Elizabethan era names are hot like : Josselyn or Myles (miles) Tristan or Christiana even Elizabeth come on bring back the strong names!!

Think about a double barrel eg Rosedale-Basnett. But if you go that route, please try and give your baby a short name. Good luck, best thing is to go with your gut, think of a name that you will want to say for the rest of your life. Also, choose 2 or 3 names per sex and decide once baby is born. Take all the time you need, don't just pick something, baby will be stuck with it for the rest of his/her life! Baby can always be known as "baby Rosedale-Basnett" at first.

Usually if you cant decide on a name for a girl then you are having a boy and vice versa, I couldnt decide on a boys name and I had a girl btu I think thats just an old wives tale really and it was just a coincidence with me. I dont like the name Kyle but Calum is lovely, are you having a double barreled last name?, my partner and I do.

I didn't have a name for my son until the day before he was born. I was just so lost on picking one. His name is now Keegan (which I thought was so unique, but there are so many Keegan's now). Keegan wasn't even on my list of names to be picked from. And when I first saw him, I knew it fit perfectly. You don't have to name your baby right away, they will just call him/her baby rosedale til you decide. And that's ok, because the name you do choose is very important and if you need a lil extra time, then take it! When you have your baby, you will know what to name him/her, don't stress yourself out over it.
as for the surnames... my daughter has both mine and her father's last names (hyphonated) which 8 years later I think was a big mistake, it makes it really difficult for her at school. Now I'm married and me, her brother, and her stepfather all share one name and she has a different last name, that hurts her feelings very much, and I can't change that. So maybe you should give your baby YOUR last name, and if/when you get married to his/her father, you can change their name. If you marry someone else, you can keep your maiden name so your child doesn't feel left out.

I gave my daughter my surname. You could use Rosedale-Basnett but it is a bit long. I like the names Callum and Kyle for a boy. What do you think of these girls names:

Don't worry too much, I am sure by the time baby is born, or even immediately after you will se what names suits.
For a girl I would choose Emma, Elizabeth, Molly, Nelly, Annie, Rosie (no good with rosedale though!).
For a boy Danny, Luke (or Lucus), Jonathan, James, Edward.

I like Calum, Ryan, Liam for a boy and Lily Rose for a girl..... Obviously Lilly Rose Rosedale wouldn't work...

Caitlin Rose Basnett (rose being from your surname)
Calum Dale Basnett (dale being from your surname)

I like Kyle but don't care for Calum.
