I went to an all girls school and we had an awful uniform.
We had to wear black shoes with no heel, white or black plain socks (most of us wore knee-high white ones), a black pleated skirt (no straight skirts or trousers!), A white long-sleeved shirt, a black and yellow stripy tie (measured to make sure it was long enough!) and a black blazer. We could wear a grey itchy V neck jumper in winter.
The uniform rules were very strict, skirts had to be knee length, no make up, one pair of stud earrings and no other jewellery. We also had to ask to take our blazer off!
And I can't not mention gym knickers can I! Was it only my school that had this horrible invention? Running round a hockey pitch in the snow in giant black knickers! That is just so degrading!

Grey long socks, slate shorts and jumper (V neck) white shirt bright red tie, blaser and soft cap.
Then to My mothers annoyance the uniform was scrapped 6 months later! For the rest of My life, none at all except for PE and Team colours.

I was lucky enough to have went to School in a Glasgow Ghetto... during the early 80's when Y cardigans and Waffles and Sta Press were in fashion - wearing of the school tie was an optional extra.. and only used for strangling the gangs from the other school .

I didn't mind the summer uniform. It was a cotton dress with a green and purple tartan pattern, but the winter uniform was real bad,I had to wear a bottle green full length shirt, bottle green shirt,a green tie with brown and purple strips and a purple, brown and green jumper.( I looked like a clown in it).

We looked like Amish people. I'd rather be a funeral director, like you!

I never had a school uniform but my kids do, they are navy pants and light blue or white polo shirts, very simple.
