Well, every time my husband changes my sons diaper, he's a fountain!!! It's never happened to me, so I don't know what's up. Do any of you have advice on how to stop the fountain?

Well, there's nothing to do to stop him from peeing! Boys are great at this, it seems they always pick the moment you open up that diaper! What we used to do is, get the new diaper unfolded so its ready to go. Do a quick switch from the old to new diaper and cover his penis with the top of the new diaper. If you need to apply an ointment, put it on your finger, quickly open the diaper and apply, then quickly recover and secure the diaper. You can also cover his penis with a cloth diaper or rag when your changing him, then if he pees, the cloth catches it. This method actually worked better for us. It doesn't work all the time, but it does cut down on how much you get sprayed! He will outgrow this soon!

The fountain will always happen -it just may be coincidence that your husband gets the shower. To prevent a squirt in the face, cover baby with a small washcloth in the lower area. He will still pee,but it wont go up. Maybe your husband takes a "little too long" to change him and he gets a draft, and then pees. Happened to my husband all the time until he picked up the changing speed.

Little boys usually sprinkle when their penis hits the cold air. I'm preparing for a boy in June and have many friends/family tell me to quickly place a burp cloth or diaper on top of his penis as soon as the wet diaper is removed. I'll be sure to try that trick in June. Good luck!

Nothing you can do to stop it. Just be smart about how you change him. Lay a clean diaper or a burp cloth over top of him so that it doesn't go everywhere if he does pee while you're cleaning the other side.

It's just natural when he's exposed to the air. The trick is to have a cloth ready when you open the diaper up to expose him. It was easy when I used cloth diapers, but I guess you could use any sort of cloth.

It won't stop. I just had my 3rd boy, and he is the worst one yet. If it really bothers you there are things called pee pee teepes-I would google it. Otherwise, I saw something similar at my babies r us the other day that you can put on top of it to avoid getting wet..
