I had the same problem with my first child. I did get my milk in for my second and third pregnancies, but it still was not a lot so I began breastfeeding and supplementing with formula after a month or so. But everyone is different. Hopefully, things will work out for you this time around! Congrats & Good Luck!

I would say probaly. The most important thing is your diet. Also with my first baby I didnt have any milk for 72 hours after the baby was born and the hospital told me if I wanted to breastfeed then I should pump all of the time untill the milk come. Trust me that worked. I woke up one morning with so much milk I thought I would die at first. I breastfeed both of my children, Good Luck on your choice.

Any idea why you didn't have milk?
When you say you didn't have milk, what exactly do you mean? Did you have breast changes during pregnancy? Did you go through postpartum engorgement? Did you leak any? Did baby gain weight? What makes you say you had "no milk" as that is VERY rare.
Breastfeeding is all about supply and demand. The more you nurse, the more milk you'll make. And your body should have some idea what to do since you tried this once before. Nurse frequently.....at least every 2 hours around the clock in the early weeks. Talk to the Lactation Consultant at the hospital and call your local La Leche League for help. (LLL will help for free and may even be willing to visit you at home.)
Also.....any "hidden" reasons for why you could have had problems before? Retained placenta? Previous breast surgery? Do you have tubular breasts? Were you taking any medications?

There are herbal suppliments you can take: Fenugreek and Blessed thisle. Ask your doctor how soon you can take them ( you may have to wait until the baby is born). Also, rent a REALLY GOOD breast pump (Medela Pump in Style is EXCELLENT) and start pumping the minute you can after you give birth. This will help stimulate your milk prodiction. Do not be surprised if you cannot get much in the first few days. I did not get much milk until the fifth day after my daughter was born in an uncomplicated birth. Now, however, I usually get 3-4 oz every time I pump (my little girl is only 13 days old).
Good luck
Did you have breast enlargement or reduction surgury done? If so, that could be why you cannot breast feed. It is often difficult or impossible for people who have had that operation to breast feed.

I was not able to breastfeed my first baby as she was 12 weeks premature. I pumped breastmilk for her for 3 1/2 months, and then my supply diminished.
I now have a 2nd baby, 3 months old, and I am breastfeeding fine.
I recommend visiting a lacation consultant or la leche league for support. You can even consult before you have the baby so you are prepared right after birth.
Every baby is different, I wish you success breastfeeding your upcoming baby.

My eldest wouldn't latch on and I had my milk come in too late to breast feed(due to surgery immediately after the birth and stuff).
He'd already been on a bottle so I left him to it(as per midwifes recommendation before everyone screams bad parent!) but with my daughter she latched on straight away and away we went (until she got too hungry and I gave her formula too despite the hormones).
I don't know the circumstances surrounding you not producing/not being successful last time but every pregnancy is different.
Keep an open mind and prepare yourself either way. If in doubt ask the midwife-she's there to help after all!

Not sure. Talk to your Dr. about this. I know they have a harmone pill that produces breastmilk. Ask the Dr if this is possible if you would like to breast feed.
