Mouse is a hardware therefore can't be infected by a virus ... but the thing that could be infected is the software that the mouse runs on

Reinstall the device driver from the cd or diskette that you get when you purchase you mouse ... that should make you mouse work properly once again ... unless your operating system files have been infected by the virus !

I don't think mouse would be infected by the virus. May be some drivers got corrupted or effected by virus. Reinstall the device. That should solve the problem.

try reinstalling the OS. The copy of the Mouse driver which is being loaded might be infected with a virus.. Yes... Nothing new (especially PC's) as soon as you start using it.

Look at the surface you are using it on. If it is textured, or the mouse pad you are using has a prismatic surface, your mouse will behave strangely, especially when you are not moving it. If it is an optical mouse clean the lens, there maybe enough dust on it to cause misdirection of the optic causing input of the mouse without movement on your part.

Not a virus, but the mouse port might be screwed up. Try a USB based mouse.
