First calm the body and the mind will follow, so sitting still for a few moments, deep breaths, even looking into a mirror and making an effort to take the angry, mean look out of your face and putting on a smile is quite effective. Working out, running, punching something, is for after the anger has subsided and you have a chance to think about why you are so upset, not for WHEN you are upset as it just prolongs it...

Sometimes, the best thing to do is to release your anger. Working out, running, punching a pillow...

Or thinking about someone that you care about. Personally, i think of my wife. She is serving in Iraq right now. I stop what i am doing, and think of her and i am at peace.

Actually, (I know this sounds stupid) I take DEEP DEEP breaths and count to ten. I count very very slowly to give my self the time I need to get back on track so to speak.

I smoke. I know, I know. It is a filthy habit and I should find a healthier way to express my feelings. The thing is, I just love it.

Weather permitting, I head straight for the batting cages. It is cheap and it doesn't hurt anyone...except my own back.
