Do a google search for lottery scams. You will find a wealth of information.
It is a scam if you have not bought a ticket but the email offers you a prize because you were (supposedly) selected by lottery. It will have very imposing and impressive details about your win etc.
Please Please Please DO NOT FALL FOR SUCH ploys. You will lose your hard earned money, first 512 pounds and once you pay that, they will ask you to pay another 1250 pounds.
I have personally visited the (so called) Revenue and Customs office in Euston, London and found that there are no such officers working there. The phone numbers given are bogus.
Be warned.

send the info to the feds!! its a scam and fed. agencies are trying to bust all they can of them. i saw it dateline or 20/20 or one of those just this past week.

its all gimmick.coz even i had gt one such mail.bt thn i refused to pay.i asked thm 2 deduct d amnt 4m my winning amnt.bt thn i nvr gt any mail 4m thm after tht.
