they were noise reactive things that would sit on the fireplace or wherever and usually clad with sunglasses and guitar.

Potted flower that held an instrument and moved when music/sound was made. There were frogs that did the same thing, but they were sitting in a group band-style, so it looked like they were play music. right. they are called Dancing Flowers its an 80's thing.
