my comp is running really slow.internet not to bad but offline very bad.have done defrag and virus check etc what is wriong

For making ur PC faster, defragment your hard disc, that is certainly gonna help you to a great extent.
Try uninstalling the programs you dont need anymore.
Try to get smaller program alternatives for big programs.
for example, instead of Norton antivirus(which is quite big), use Kaspersky(which is small, and uses less RAM)
you can also install more RAM in your system or try getting a faster processor.
Last but not the least, make sure you don't run several programs at the same time, that makes a system very very slow.

Download and install Winpatrol, it is free. See what loads at start up and disable what you don't want. Disable MSN messenger using Winpatrol. It's always messenger that slows down pc's. it keeps barraging your computer with requests to connect until it does connect. Turn off all the windows background stuff you don't need running.

It looks like you may have to many programmes on your computer and you can add more memory to your pc.

You might want to try an anti-spy scanner. I recommend Spybot search and destroyfrom http://www.dowload.com

first remove unwnated software installation, temp file, temp internet file, cookies, then check it now ok no problem. other wise increase your ram.
