I'll probably shake my head and tut a few times and then get on with life. What can I do? What is going to happen is going to happen and unless you are high up in the military or political circles, there is very little you can do to affect play on the world stage (to carry your theatrical theme on a little), so why worry?

Rather an exaggerate assumption. The Reagen is there just for American intimidation. The US wont open another front with Iran. Shes far more organize then Iraq. Imagine the necessary equipment and troops. The only benefit this war on Iran is the contracts for defense companies in the West. I reckon it would take around a half a million troops just to fight it out with Iran besides Nuking it still it wont guarantee success. This is just my opinion, i'm not a military analyst.

For goodness sake, what's the excuse? As we didn't believe the claptrap they came up with last time, are they just going to override International Law without warning and start hostilities anyway? The Iranians have legitimate reasons for developing Nuclear power, as they, along with every other country, are facing the prospect of an energy crisis as world oil production reaches 'peak'. Leaving all environmental concerns to one side, why shouldn't they have Nuclear power? Every other country has the option. As for developing nuclear weapons, Britain is planning to renew Trident, despite our commitment to the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty, so we can hardly comment.

I hope you're wrong, because a nasty feeling in my gut tells me that if they do start a war, it will be even messier than Iraq, and just as pointless. If they do, they should go into it alone. Britain should not get involved. I protested in 2003 against the invasion of Iraq, and even though it didn't prevent war, I would take to the streets again. This time though, I would hope that the groundswell of public opinion against it would be so great it would have a real impact in Parliament, and Tony Blair would have to think twice.

The USA will get its clock cleaned if that happens.
And Iraq will then spiral out of control more so
than before. Istrael will also last about 1 month after the
bomb.

Trust me, if that were true you would not know about it and saying so here in this forum. No, we won't be attacking Iran anytime soon, if ever.

With tears if you are really right.

My problem with your idea is that Iran is far from helples. Looking at the US's track record since Vietnam they only go for the weak target.

Dear God ,I hope I am right and you are wrong. Too many deaths in the Middle East arena already.

Realistically, there's nothing we CAN do about it. They didn't listen to the people when they demonstrated before the Iraq invasion, I don't imagine they will listen this time either.

If that happened it would enforce my belief that Iraq was definitely an oil war.
