"Do something you love." (I think is most important, because when you really love and care passionately about what you are doing it will usually make happier, and make you want work harder, giving you a greater chance for financial sucess).
"Don't rock the boat." (nobody likes a disruptive presence).
"Be a team player". (be unique and make sure your voice is heard, but show support for your co-workers, it will show you are a positive person and you are more likely to be liked and appreciated. Working as a cohesive unit will also make your company more sucessful, (plus, people who are negative and dissliked by their co-workers are less apt to get promotions and pay raises and more likely to be fired)).
"Think outside the box." (unique, good ideas can really set you apart).
"....credit where credit is due." (Make sure you are recognized when you come up w/ a great idea, or do something positive for your company, even if it means "casually" bring it up to your bosses boss, especially if you feel like you aren't getting the credit you deserve or if someone else is taking credit for something you did. Maybe say something like, "I can't wait to start working on (blah, blah, blah)", (the project or project idea you came up w/). Then you could say something like; " I actually came up w/ the idea when I was at the zoo", (for example), "and that's what made me think of (blah, blah, blah)." (your idea). You know just try to be subtle, almost like your making small talk or just discussing the upcoming project. Though try to do it in a way that won't make you seem sneeky or like you are intentionally blatently going over your supervisors head.

PS Check Spelling not working again so forgive the misspellings (it seems to happen to me at least a couple times a week at !Yahoo Answers. Those little circular arrows just keep spinning, like it's checking your spelling, but it never does. Ever happen to you (or anyone else)?
