Without knowing what you were offered or what you are demanding or what your specific injuries are - there are a lot of factors that go into a settlement.
You may have had a pre-existing condition that would lower the value of your case (sometimes you don't even know you have the condition until an accident like this).
Or, your attorney may be lazy or incompetent.
Or, you may be stubborn. You may have gotten a fair offer and that's why the attorney recommended it. The longer a case goes on, the more expensive it gets for you - you need to pay further doctors and experts, all of which cut into what you keep (not into your attorney fees though). So, your attorney may have known you weren't getting anything more and felt if you were being unreasonable.
If he recommended you see another attorney, then do that. Do understand that your first attorney can place a lien on your settlement, as he is entitled to his fee for any work he has done already.

After conversations with the company, maybe that was all he could get from the company without a long trial. The big company can tie this up for years and will if they think they are in the right. We don't know your settlement amount, and we don't know the extent of your injuries, so I don't think we are in a position to really understand the whole situation.
I hope you are not the type to complain about everything and get tired of working and are trying to go out on medical. I have worked in factories most of my life and have seen people get a job they didn't like and shortly thereafter they would go to medical and complain they hurt themselves.
I'm sorry to hear about your injuries and hope you get the compensation that you deserve.

Damages sought are always much higher than damages awarded. Your assertion that your attorney was "paid off by the company" is called libel, and he can sue you for it if you mention his name or if it could obviously be deduced who he is. Making an allegation like that is very serious without any evidence, he would lose his license to practice law if it were true.
You may very well have talked yourself out of any settlement whatsoever.

He may feel that is all that you are entitled to or he is lazy. One or the other. Talk to a different attorney or get several other opinions.

sounds quite strange. on the one hand you can work and are just scamming the system which is typical.....on the other hand the attorney seems to have ethics

It could be as you say. it could also be that the lawyer felt that it would damage your case if you pressed for the amount you wanted.

Lawyers are greedy humans who get tired and want to get paid and move on.
