couples that were dating and so in love then he dumps her for her for some reason i guess for her cttitude or sumthn like she is so childish or i cant remember and then he breaks up with her, she tries to get him back bad he wouldnt although both of them couldnt get over eachother and once he realized he cant be with any1 but her then they end up back together

Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind - great movie by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet.
There is a new technology that helps erase memories. But the technology is just a prop, basically the story tells about how if 2 person are meant to be in love, they'll get together.
2 very different minded person falls in love. Kate is a bubbling person that lives on impulse and Jim a secluded person. They somehow get together and fall in love.
They had a small fight. Kate, on a whim, went to erase Jim from her memory. Jim upon finding that out, erase her from his mind too.
Great role by Kirsten Dunst and Elijah Wood who try to hook up with Kate by imitating the memory of Jim by bringing Kate (who already erased Jim from her mind) to places and things they did together. But they werent meant to be together depsite doing the same thing and Kate just wasnt interested in him. Somehow, Kate and Jim just found each other again in the end..
Watch it, you will feel like falling in love all over again.

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason is sort of like that. I think, though, that she dumps the guy for his attitude, realizes she made a mistake and tries to get him back, he won't do it, but by the end they realize that they are meant to be and are back together. It's cute, but not as good as the first movie.

there was "10 ways to lose a guy' (i think i got that wrong) but that fits the bill perfectly. oh no, 'how to lose a guy in 10 days....' i think that's still wrong hahaha.
Story of Us, yes Hosebeastesstobe, they were married but that fits.
10 things i hate about you
Maid in Manhattan, fits nicely
The Pirate Movie, (80's but a big fave)
oh my god, notebook, NOTEBOOK...
I could sit here reminiscing for hours, but i'll leave it at that.

there was movie in the late 70's with the father in 7th heaven in it that sound like that I know that does not help but it was a good movie
