I use a cordless one so it doesn't have a tail.

Well...when it was invented, it does have a wire (Tail)

and it does looks like a mouse, some genius gave it the name so it would appeal to everyone. Cuz in the mind, Mouse is cute, rats are not. :)


And for your cordless mouse....

Well, let's say evolution changed the world and now there are mice who can "genetically" come without tails ;)

Because the guy who invented had this really long name for it (I don't know what it was) and someone said you can't call it that. Lets just call it a mouse. I'm sure wikipedia would have an article on it.
