I don't think I could specify just one book. I have read so much and enjoy so many types of different books. The "Ink" series someone wrote about is very good, love the Harry Potter stuff, back to Ink, Cornelius Funke also wrote "The Thief Lord" and "DragonRider" also good books perfect for tween boys.
I guess my favorite would have to be "The Dark Tower" series by Stephen King. Maybe "Talisman" and "Black House" too.

Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
A retelling of the Arthurian Legend from the womens point of view. As seen through the eyes of Morgaine, priestess of the Goddess.
I have worn out 1 hardcover and 2 softcover.
Don't judge by the dreadful TNT movie based on the book. They did a terrible job of it. It is a much better book than that.

The Holy Bible. It is about God and his plan to save his children by sending Jesus his son to pay the price for our sins. The best part is it is true and it was written for the people that God loves and even if that person was you and you alone HE still would have died for you even if no one else believes.
It is the story of God's plan for us and it is a wonderful plan and here is the neat part. We get to live the story cause God is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow. He is a God of miracles FOREVER. Here is one of the many passages encluded in his word.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
