No need buy food unless you are going on a solo expedition like to mount everest. For money, it depends on the host country's custom regulations on bringing or taking money out of the country. Try to use alternatives like traveller's cheque or credit/debit cards. But if you are really going to a place where there is probably no human civilisation, bring space food instead of canned food as it is very heavy.

I'm pretty sure you can buy food in every country you visit .As for money , depends on what countries you are visiting and the lenght of your trip
