This is a very broad question, and I don't think it can be answered very well without knowing what your intentions and goals are.

For example, this discussion would go one way if you are a small, technically inclined small business owner, with 2-10 PC's. Now think of how this discussion would change if you are an international corporation. The scale and complexity of the systems required to support both businesses vastly differ.
Computer systems are in place to support business uses and objectives, and without knowing what those are, you can't have a full conversation about them.

Consider rephrasing your question, and focus on what you are trying to accomplish.

I think rephrasing your question is a good idea but the bottom line is Linux is built from the ground up for networking and windows is not. Windows networking is very sufficient and it can scale to very large solutions. But overall linux is better at it. With built in services like ssh, vnc, and others, Linux and other UNIX like systems just blows windows out of the water. Really because of ssh.
