Hi Guys and Girls,

I have an interview for adult/mental health nursing - does anyonw know where I can get some relevant background on possible questions? Any advice gratefully received.

Dude you need to swallow a few copies of Nursing Times, and make sure you are up to date with the NHS world. They might quiz you on certain current affairs in Nursing and you must show knowledge and opinions. Be yourself, and answer all questions fired at you. Good Luck!

Are you in the UK? Evidence based practice, KSF, NICE guidelines, you'll probably get asked to give examples, so think of a few difficult or challenging patients and how you dealt with them. Mental Health Act. Supervision and your experience of having it and giving it, strengths and weaknesses, career progression - what are your career plans? How do you handle stress, time management, prioritisation.Thats a few I can think of.

they are going to ask if you have worked with the mentally handicapped

they may ask about situations
like if you got cornered by someone or hit by someone what would your first reaction be

That's bound to come up.......so be ready.
