A child has the right to have an attorney represent them as well as any adult would. The court will do its best to insure that the child can be with both parents equally if the parents are fit and have a healthy environment for the child to grow up in. If you need advice call the city hall in your area and ask or call social services.

I'm not entirely sure, but i know a lot of kids who live with their dads, through their choice. I think if you speak to the parent you want to live with about it then perhaps you and both parents can come to an ammicable arrangement. However if that is not possible as your parents are at eachothers throats then there will probably have to be some sort of custody battle in court where the judge decides. Hopefully u wont have to go through that as it is not very nice. Good luck to u.

It depends on the type of divorce. If there are no child welfare issues concerning either parent then I believe it is any age. The child's preferences should always come before what the parents believe is best.

It's between 12 and 14.
It's also the judges final decision on where the best living situation is for the child.
Sometimes these things can be worked out with out the courts.
Good Luck.

It varies state to state. Majority is between 12-13 yo. Basically when the child is old enough to form their own opinion and speak to the judge and let the judge know why he/she wants to be with the other parent.

In Canada I believe it is 14 years old, however, the child's wishes will be taken into consideration as to their choice when they are around 12 years old as well. Does not mean that the child's wishes will be granted, but the judge will take them into consideration when making his final judgement.
