We go to Canada every year, as my family are from there. Once we get there we will have lots of help with the baby etc. from everyone but I am just not sure if it will be ok to travel with a 4-6 week old baby?

You can fly with a baby at any age assuming you have a healthy baby. Call the airline you are flying with and ask them to make sure bc different airlines have different rules. Check with your doctor too to make sure he/she says its ok.

Yes, you can do it. I had to fly across the country with my son when he was a month old. It wasn't a joy, but it's possible. Just be aware that flying can make babies uncomfortable, and when babies are uncomfortable they cry and yell. So it's a double problem of not wanting your baby to be miserable and also having other passengers get irritated and give you dirty looks the whole time. Feed the baby during take off and landing, because when he is sucking on something it helps reduce the pressure and pain in his ears. Also be prepared for having to change a wet or poopy diaper on your lap because there is no place in an airplane bathroom to do that, and again, if you don't change the diaper your baby might be miserable and crying. Good luck to you!

The army will fly someone after the 6 weeks postpartum. Just bundle the baby up and check with your doctor for more instructions. But you may not be up to travel with a baby like that. Just wait until you get closer.

you can fly with a baby that young..most airlines require them to be 2 weeks old for domestic and 4 for international.......with the new laws in place though you may have trouble obtaining a passport on such short notice especially during the holiday times when alot of government offices are closed

I flew with my daughter (5 hour flight) when she was 6 weeks old and all was fine. The doctor didn't have a problem with it either. Best to check as Canada is a lot further and a different climate.

i think you're jumping the gun a little. you are barely pregnant, so don't worry about it until you find out how the baby is, health wise. you can make all the plans in the world, then something like a cold happens, and you have to stay home. wait until later on in your pregnancy, then talk to the doctor. good luck!

You could but I think traveling with a baby in that cold weather is a little bit selfish on your part.

You can't travel with such a young baby. Didn't your doctor tell you that?
