You will need 2 types of sticker dots (ones that peel off easily or different coloured tape/post it notes etc)
Writing pad and pens
Phone book
Local paper
First don't panic! You need to sit down and get a piece of paper written up with the things you want to keep and want to sell.
Second the things you want to sell mark a price next to them.
Third the things you want to keep stick a coloured dot/tape/post-it on of the same colour! Repeat with the other colour for those that you want to get rid of and put the same colour on the sheet you have written so others know if they get involved!!!
Fourth scan the local papers for people wanting to buy stuff. Local supermarkets have notice boards up you can usually use for free....newsagents etc...Second hand dealers, auction houses, charity shops and contact them with what you have to get rid of.
Fifth call second hand dealers and auction houses or take a walk to them.
Sixth put up notices on boards around your area or school and advertise a moving out sale! Garage sale or boot sale...etc
Seventh if you have a lot of large items to move then ask a nice friend...if you are male you are going to have to rely on mates..if you are female a bit of girlie charm will usually get you a load of strong males with cars and roof racks to help!! If not BRIBE them with pizza and beer at the other end!!!
Eighth collect a few newspapers and cardboard boxes (get them from the local supermarket!!!
Ninth wrap the breakables in paper and put in the box and ALWAYS write on the outside of the box what is in it...it will help on unpacking day being able to find those essential items!! I usually just mark the box with a number and keep a separate page listing ALL that goes into that box. I do this if using a packign company as I want to know what is in there and don't want to advertise to anyone else where I have put precious items!
Tenth get busy and don't forget to leave out your cleaning stuff, garbage bags etc until the last minute. you can always bag up these in a garbage bag as you leave. Once all is packed and you can shuffle them around the rooms. Then get cleaning! Use an all purpose spray cleaner like Dettol Multi-action which will kill the grease in kitchens, cleans bathroom, floors, toilet, and smells really nice!! Vaccuum the floor/sweep. Mop it and clean around the sink and toilet too!!! Vinegar and paper towel will clean ALL glass safely including windows and mirrors. Quick fixes for grout and tiles is use toothpaste! White of course!!! plug any holes with it and leave to dry....do this after your last bath or shower as it will disolve with the water again!! Spray the radiator with fabric softener in an old spray bottle with a bit of water...will leave a fantastic clean smell. When you have finished clearing up bag up any paper towels and dispose of the bag in the proper way!
Cancel any mail or deliveries you have on a regular basis before you go. Post office has mail redirection forms which can be downloaded from their websites.
If you have a phone on or need one connecting get that done as a priorty over getting papers/milk delivered.
Get in contact with electric or power and gas suppliers as a priority also!
Make some plain postcards up with your new contact details for friends and family and also any official places and post immediately!! They need time to sort out their records too!!!
Most importantly leave out a set of cuttlery, plate, cup, tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, matches and candle, toilet paper, torch and radio, headache tablets or any medications you are on. Keep this in a basket or plastic container SAFE where you can get to it instantly, I tie my handbag to it so I have to find it!!
If you have to use a moving company then make sure you get quotes from at least 4 of them...and use the local paper for this as they will almost certainly be cheaper!
THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A HEADACHE!!! Sit and plan it....it will come together with a little bit of planning....frustration and stress comes from not being organised! The planning will stop any of that! Write out a basic callendar and who is available to help you. I have completely packed a 4 bedroom house with 2 kiddies in a week on my own....you will have no trouble!!

don`t worry. If you really have to get rid of everything, just put it all on E-bay as a job lot. If you`re just worried that you`ll have to move before you have sold all your things, perhaps a friend could store it for you until it is sold. If your financial situation allows, just give things you can`t take with you to a charity shop... although being a student, this probably ISN`T an option. Good luck and don`t get stressed.

dont panic! There are usually adverts in local newspapers by people who do house clearances, and will take the lot.otherwise put your own add in and sell items individually.if there are things you want to keep, ask family or friends about storing them for you until you need them again.good luck.
