37. How to test your speaker connection
To make sure the speakers are correctly connected, you can use a test program “Multi Channel Audio Demo” : Start -> All Programs -> PCI Audio Applications -> Multi Channel Audio Demo
You can switch the center and subwoofer channel by adjusting the jumpers on the soundcard. See farther down this manual. This function was included because there is no standard in the industry what should be center and what should be subwoofer. There are many speakersets on the market and they can all differ. If you notice huge amount of bass going through your center which is supposed to go through the subwoofer, switch the jumpers. Move the cursor to which speaker you want to test and left-click the mouse. If the set-up is correct, you can hear music coming from that speaker alone. Each channel has different music for distinction.

The photos card you're looking for for should be an "onboard" one. enter the bios and deactivate the onboard photos there. After that verify the equipment configuration to verify if there fairly is in person-friendly words one card left. to substantiate all drivers are gone you should also get rid of the hot card and restart the equipment with out any card. There should be no message like "new hardware got here across" and there shouldnt be any drivers setting up. Then placed again in the hot card and deploy that one...you should have a sparkling equipment with in person-friendly words one card. I dont be conscious of whats up along with your sound because you didnt provide sufficient assistance for that. yet Im particular you acquire onboard sound too, perchance a soundcard too? If thats the caes then do a similar as above, deactivate the soundchip in Bios and so on... you should do it! strong success!

It's not clear from your question (that isn't really a question) whether you're only experiencing sound problems when you use your optical drive. If this is the case, have you made sure that you've connected the analogue sound cable from the optical drive to the soundcard?

Did you install the driver for it? also you may have to disable the on board sound in the BIOS. Have look in device manager see if there is an exclamation mark to do with sound/video/game controllers.
