I think the whole show lost it's direction in the second season, but I hung on -- now it is all just too stupid to watch -- a normal human would have died or gone insane long ago... How 'bout, they kill off Jack and introduce his cousin Joe, or Ernie or maybe even Bert....

He has a bit, mind you, when you think about all he has gone through I am surprised he is able to function. Some has been covered but here goes, wife murdered by ex lover, various friends dead, Tony, Michelle, David Palmer, he had to cut the arm of his daughter's boyfriend, he had to ask Lynn to sacrifice himself to save everybody else, Kim doesn't want to know him anymore, hung out to dry and rot in a chinese prison and is only out because the US government need his help, he had to kill Curtis, and now he was daft enough to break into the Russian consulate, unless Bill can help him he is on his own, even his father murdered his brother who had been trying to kill him. You ask has he lost the plot, maybe it is the producers and writers of 24 that have lost the plot. I will stay to the end as I love 24 and Jack is still soooo hot!

For a guy that was beaten and imprisoned for 20 months, he sure hasn't missed a step. If anything, he should be bitter. They obviously weren't trying hard enough to get Jack out of there because when they finally did, it was so he could sacrifice himself. I know the US paid a huge price, yada yada yada, but Bauer has saved the country how many times? And they couldn't pull extra strings just once? How awesome would it be if he became the bad guy?

Which makes him better than his father, who actually killed his own son.
I don't buy the cannibal part, since that was his only way to escape. It's not like he sat there and sauteed the guy.
In the context of him being in a Chinese prison for 20 months, none of his behavior is that out of whack.
Now, Martha killing her ex-husband, that one came out of nowhere.

cut the guy some slack! he was just in a chinese prison for almost 2 yrs. that is enough to make most people go insane. then they get him out only to make him be a sacrifice?!? i'd be not quite right too if they did that to me. but i don't care, jack bauer still kicks some serious ***!!!!!!!

Not at all. But you have to admit the guy is pretty messed up. 20 months in a Chinese prison, wife is dead, daughter won't talk to him, he had to kill Curtis...the list goes on. In the end, Jack will prevail....

Come on, it's his first day out of prison... The reason he's out of there is because the government want to sacrifice him.. I think he's mentally ill.. And then he found out that his brother is behind this.. His brother almost kill him too... He's hurt

no but i do think this season is worse. all of the main characters died or left the show. jack bauer is a terrible character and the plot is bad. it started off very confusing.
