This is possible in malaysia by paying a small fees to a local firm. In my country India, i think work in this field is still in very nascent stage.

I will surely say, this is POSSIBLE "IF" i, myself will want to locate my cellphone (in case of misplaced/ being stolen/ etc.)My cellphone is equipped with that kind. All i need to do is activate always the "KEY" on my cell phone. And log into my PC to locate it. BUT i have to enter my designated log in ID and security password/network password. Once i log in, the map will display on the screen of my PC and will show exactly where my cell phone is. Whether it is in roaming mode or not. BUT no one can access it unless he/she is permitted to do so "or" if you know the ID and security password/network password.
*Aside from that, there is a security lock also that automatically lock the cell phone once you're meters away from the security key. And will automatically unlock also if you get near again to that security key. Options are between 4meters, 10meters and 20meters or depending the model of your cell phone.
**As for Hunabun's answer, sorry to say that you have no much knowledge or perhaps you have not heard about it because you dont belong to a country that can make it. But i wont say where i am, lol. I am not a scammer and not joking too. What i said here is really true and this is a problem of some esp to couple's who have side affairs coz they will be caught where exactly they are thru the cellphone.

As of March 19, 2007, this is basically not possible on the web.

If you find a website or someone saying they do it, more than likely it's a joke.

Or, get ready to be scammed.

Well there are free websites that tell you the location of the area code. But other than that you have to pay for it somehow. You should Google(or Yahoo I guess) it. Hope it helps
