Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is a scheme that is part of the IEEE 802.11 wireless networking standard to secure IEEE 802.11 wireless networks (also known as Wi-Fi networks). Because a wireless network broadcasts messages using radio, it is particularly susceptible to eavesdropping.

In a network environment, all systems must use the same key to effectively communicate. With multiple access points you can use multiple WEP keys and thus provide limited use to users.

Read the article to get a description of how it encrypts and decrypts the signal and for a deeper understanding.

The WEP secret's often the two on the lower back of the instant router or on some paperwork that got here with it or perhaps the bx it got here in. this is presuming it rather is a kit at the same time with BT, talk talk etc. even if it rather is a kit and you cant discover the WEP key, come across a technical help quantity for the ISP (internet provider provider) or the provider of the field. in the experience that your pal has offered the field and set it up independently then ur screwed! nicely no longer particularly yet sturdy success!
