It wouldn't be just doing something dangerous, because a child can do a dangerous thing but that isn't courage. A capable adult can do a dangerous thing as a form of self challenge or excitement but it wouldn't be courage but self satisfaction. Courage would be an deciding to do an act, that is assumed to cause or risk self harm for the sake of a greater good or belief. Some things are considered courage by some people, but not by others. I personally do not consider the spending of extensive time and money to climb a dangerous mountain courage. Self satisfaction, yes...courage, no. The mountain was not placing anyone at risk and no other people were benefited when it is all done.

Others may disagree.

I think to develop more courage would be to review the decisions that you make and consider who did you benefit and what greater good would be lost without your action. Some of the bravest things I have ever done risked many things and saved people but never went beyond series of meetings and agreements. Some of the bravest and most dangerous things I have ever done were just stupid and self entitled, in hindsight. You get by doing. No other way.

Courage is being able to do what needs to be done without regards to the danger involved. Like running into a burning house to save the life of someone inside.

Courage isn't something that you can find or get. You either have it or you don't. Just because you don't have it doesn't mean that you are a coward, it just means that you are not willing to risk your life (or risk injury) for someone else.

There is also something called Personal Courage which is the ability to do what is right regardless of the consequences. This often involves telling the truth about a mistake that you made or something that you did intentionally.

Courage is not the absence of fear. That is stupidity.
Courage is being afraid and driving on anyway.
No one knows if they have it or not, one finds out when they need it to do the right thing.
Courage is not doing some stunt to impress someone.
Courage is facing danger so someone you care for doesn't have to.

Courage is the lack of logical wisdom, whereby an action is taken to fulfill a desired objective without due consideration for the concurrent consequences.

One gets courage either through the intensity of purpose or emotion.

Courage is not an inherent characteristic, it is a momentary state of mind... often courageous intentions dissolve if enough time is allowed to pass without embarking on the purported action.

Courage is considered a virtue in those situations where the intended purpose is considered desirable and the concurrent risk is taken in a selfless frame of mind.

everyone has courage though most of us have burried it under a huge veil of fear and appathy. Courage has nothing to do with the absence of fear, rather it is the strength to stand up to that fear and take action for something that is much, much more important to us.

I don`t know, Max, verrry difficult, verrry difficult. Wait, I ask my friend Zsolt.
Well anyways, I know how to anything I want so I can tell you.
When I want something, I just pretend like I already have it,
I think about how it feels to have it and think about how all the details are and how much I enjoy it. Then I forget about it.
Next thing I know, I have it. Like I had rubbed Alladin`s lamp.
But verrry difficult, verrry difficult.
