This indicate that ur son is having a bit low resistance ie why the ESR is bit high
and he is anaemic

If both mother and child are anaemic it means that ur diet habits are not good
Tonic are good but it has a limit and the % of iron absorbed from a tonic is comparatively low ( body absorb iron according to need)

The best iron tonic which body will like and absorb fast is from food we eat - allow the body to absorb the food we eat - don't take tea or coffee when u are having food it reduce the absorption.

Like taking 3- 4 dates in the morning - both of u can take it
Adding green leaves as curry - u can squeeze a lime ( vit C help to absorb the iron) and eat it with in 3 hrs of preparation and don't eat leafy vegetables after sun set as the chlorophyll is not digested according to naturopathy

You can have dry grapes soaked over night

and also have good honey - which increase immunity

If u are anaemic last 18 yrs plz do necessary health measUre to keep it normal or else it will effect ur heart

If all this is not helping u consult a homoeopath in ur area and take constitutional medicine

How do you know it's not asthma? My 4yr old son does suffer from asthma but it took from the age of 5 weeks to 3 years for doctors to finally agree that's what it was, the reason being there are so many other things it COULD be at that age that could be misdiagnosed as asthma. But then again, it COULD actually be asthma especially if anyone with the same genes (ie parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles/siblin... suffer from either asthma, hayfever or eczema). Night coughing is one of the first signs, although my son doesn't cough at night but it's still asthma!! I'm assuming you've had him thoroughly checked out medically and aren't just dismissing asthma because you don't want it to be? If so, you're doctor should also have discussed with you what it could be and what to do about it to ease the symptoms for your son. Also, coughs often make kids sick purely because of the catarrh or mucus build up so you need to avoid things that contribute towards that build up such as a lot of milk. My best advice would be take him to the doctor again and ask if you can be referred to a paediatrician for blood testing for allergies and see what this reveals. Good luck

You do not have to worry at all. ESR is a non-specific test and its result varies widely.. Your son is perfectly ok, only the Haemoglobin is a bit low. Give him some Iron tonic like Dexorange/Haem up/Fe-Rose etc. Give him also a course of deworming to clear worms from his gut.

ur sons hb is not too low. esr can go to 39 in any infective condition . get an x ray chest done and get esr repeated if cough & cold is over . get blood tested for t.l.c,dlc & c.r.p .if all are normal, just relax
