My friend had a pair of dark jeans and so she decided to sandpaper it to make it lighter. It appears that she sandpapered some of it too much so it looks too light, like almost chalk white. Is there a way to make those areas darker again?

You could try a clothes dye then rinse a little earlier than recommended so it will give the fabric some colour but not make the dark bits the same colour as the bits she wanted lighter good luck

try dye,
and with the dye turn the jeans inside out in the wash
it works better
or maybe just go buy a new pair of jeans lol
