Lately, my laptop always gets shut down accidentally. It's either someone tripped on the power cord, I accidentally pulled the plug, the electricity went off, etc. I'm scared this might affect the computer system itself. Will it?

tripping over the power cord and yanking it out of your laptop repeatedly can have the negative effect of stripping both the outlet that plugs into the wall. the port on your computer. and possibly tearing the wires inside of the power cord. All very negative for the power cord and possibly your computer. The electricity going out can also be very negative for your laptop because typically what causes the power to go off is a surge of energy which when surging through your laptop can cause your parts to fry. For this reason you should always have your laptop plugged into a surge protector.

Erm. Laptops have a battery, so even when it gets unplugged it should not be powering down, unless the battery is at critical state. Generally laptops are more resilient to frequent powering down as opposed to the PC.

it may cause software errors ..like corrupted file system errors..etc .in hardisk. Laptop should have battery backup which is activated in electricity failure, thats why it is portable LAPTOP than traditional desktop PC's if something causes
disconnection.unplugged state..etc..if your laptop has a rechargeable battery then u can reset your windows shutdown time from start>settings>controlpanel>performance and maintanance>power option>batteryTAB...

If you're running Windows XP or Vista, you should be able to restore the computer to a previous date if the computer shows signs of a problem. Generally, though, you won't have any issues with this unless it's REALLY happening constantly.
